Often times when I’m facing challenges in my life, I will find an inspirational book and ask to be lead to the exact paragraph that will help me.

The other day when faced with a challenge, I was drawn to the book Spiritual Liberation by one of my mentors, Michael Beckwith. 

As I opened the page here’s what it said… “Many people believe that a challenge-free life is a happy life. However, life with its challenges stimulates our growth and development. Looking back over your life, you will have to admit that your growth was accelerated when you faced some form of suffering or pain that brought you to your wit’s end. Such experiences hold the possibility…

As I read further, I thought about how many times we have to be totally POed before we make any change.

So, that can be either good news or bad news for you.

If you are frustrated with your weight and how you feel about your body that may be the best blessing you have. That may be just the thing that will drive you to make 2009 the year you commit to changing your lifestyle, having more energy and creating a life you love.

It always sounds so cliché to talk about how this will be the year. But, you really can do it, just by making small shifts each day.

I have a sign in my office that reads “this one thing I do…” That reminds me that every great goal is made up of lots of small steps.

Just commit to make one change per day. Don’t try to tackle 10 years worth of bad habits in one week. You’ll end up getting disappointed and give up.

Decide right now that you don’t want to feel this same way next year and commit to doing whatever it takes to make a change.

Once you’ve made that decision, you’ll start to be attracted to every thing that will support you.

But, the first step is always the decision.

Make the decision now for the life and body you love. You deserve it!
